Speed and Strength Training

There is a direct correlation to strength, speed, and flexibility when it comes to performing proper movement patterns as a baseball player. From a fundamental aspect, many times we can correct things simply be starting in a better position or getting to a better position, whether that is at the plate, on the mound, or in the field. 

But, what if an athlete has difficulty getting to these positions if he is not strong enough, flexible enough, or simply doesn’t understand yet how his body works in generating both speed and force?

Our Speed and Strength sessions aim to create more physical, faster, quicker athletes!


Ages: 8U-15U

Players will be grouped by age level. In some cases, we may combine ages when appropriate given the course content.

what:

8 week comprehensive program, including 6 in-person sessions.

Where:

All in-person sessions will be at Diamond Club Training Facility. Additionally, players will be expected to complete assigned workouts at home.


Program Details

Athletes will meet in person once per week. Each session is limited to 12 players only! In addition, players will be provided with a comprehensive program to complete at home including but not limited to: running drills, plyometric work, band work, body weight lifts, etc. Each athlete will be expected to track their receptions and progress.


Players will learn neuromuscular control, which will translate to:

  • Improved balance and weight transfer
  • Overall body awareness to improve timing and sequencing of movement patterns
  • The ability to create more rotational speed/power through all aspects of the game


Athletes will focus on:

  • Overall strength improvement, specifically lower half and core
  • Sprinting and plyometric work
  • Mobility training
  • Injury prevention


The entirety of the 8 week program will be available via The Futures App. Players will have the ability to view their daily plan and record their repetitions! Creating accountability is vital to long-term development. Athletes will be expected to complete their workouts each week.
